30 Stunning Fall Blonde Hair Color Ideas for Autumn 2024

fall blonde hair 2023

Just a few steps away from the classic platinum look, this bright icy blonde will really accentuate the hues of your cold weather wardrobe. Blended with both highlights and lowlights, it's enough to make Goldilocks envious. With light blonde framing the face and peachy blonde painted down to the ends, this style is so multi-dimensional. The golden vibes will float you through autumn with the sun at your back. "Long, curly layers give shape and body while showcasing the natural curl or wave," says hairstylist Raven Hurtado, pointing to Rita Ora’s golden cascade of curls. When styling at home, use a defining product (something like Pattern’s Curl Mousse) for hold and use a diffuser attachment on your blow dryer to add definition, she adds.

Subtle Ombré Blonde

Red hair colors are always big for fall, and for good reason; deeper, rust tones and burnt oranges are reminiscent of the shades of autumn leaves. And one of our favorite seasonal shades is auburn; a reddish-brown that goes deeper than pumpkin spice, but still locks in plenty of multi-dimensional shine. To recreate this hair trend on a natural brunette, first apply sweeps of BlondorPlex to create natural-looking highlights through the hair.

Icy Blonde Balayage

A long, tapered layered cut, that will give your style a lot of body and volume. This is the perfect protective style for anyone who’s looking to give their hair a break from styling and heat or anyone who wants to feel like an earthy goddess. Hawkins recommends styling and maintaining your goddess braids the same way you would any box braids. “If your fed-out long curls begin to get a little dry, add some Dove Hair Therapy Brilliant Gloss and Repair Serum to bring them back to life,” he says. To style this look, Soshyn recommends applying molding clay to dry hair and using your fingers to tousle and shape it. You can use a flexible, light-hold hair spray to add volume and definition.

Cool-Toned Blonde Balayage

Copper hair can be the perfect option for autumn, with its shades echoing the hues of orange sunsets and that perfect lighting of golden hour. "Even though it's a brighter hue, it can be tailored and made to work for any skin tone and undertone," says the experts at Hey Discount. At the salon, he recommends asking for a neutral brown base first and adding warm copper-toned blonde highlights. “This will give the traditional bronde a spiced appearance that’s reflective of fall,” he says.

Long Layers and Face-Framing Highlights

Some of the listed ideas work better for dark hair colors and others are more suited for blondes, but virtually everyone can find a pretty color trend in this list to get their hair in tune with natural fall colors. This smart blend of cinnamon and strawberry blonde hues is definitely worth a trip to the salon. This is a perfect shade for a brunette going lighter for a fall hair color. Cool-toned ash brown is one of the most interesting fall hair colors you can try to upgrade your natural color.

Golden Honey Hues

After seeing all of Margot Robbie’s retro looks on the Barbie press tour, I’m more excited than ever to try out some of the Old Hollywood looks from runways, like this one shown at Richard Quinn. To get the look for fall 2023, follow the lead of hairstylist Sam McKnight by spritzing on a ton of hairspray to finish and set the look. Not only will it keep these finger-waves in place, but it’ll also add major shine. Until you have shiny, glossy, glass hair — you need up your reflective powers.

Cowgirl Copper

“The Colorproof Volume Blow Dry Spray is a great lightweight volume spray that has long lasting memory to give that bouncy volume finish that will last all day,” Schipani says. “We are transitioning from spiky, sleek, ‘90s updos to softer Barbie-inspired glam styling,” Schipani explains. “Mono refers to one color, while carbon is the deepest ash brunette possible,” says Richards.

But first and foremost, spray it with a heat protectant first to minimize heat damage. To complete the cut, ask your stylist for super-blunt bangs to go with the gradual layers that give this shag haircut that ~edge~. This shadow-root hair trend at the Versace fashion show this year proves that you don’t need to make frequent appointments at your salon for touch-ups anymore. Just ask your colorist for a rooty color at the top so your hair can grow out evenly and gradually. Add more richness to your dark mane with this subtle yet noticeable brown balayage that brings you into a fall-like mood. However, if you are mixing several hues, you need to make sure all of them go well together.

Chunky highlights for 2023

fall blonde hair 2023

Try it yourself by highlighting your brunette client's natural shade with BlondorPlex, then paint on Shinefinity Color Glaze 00/66 + 04/65 to create a berry tone that even natural color lovers can't resist. A mahogany merlot is right in line with autumn hues, making it the perfect complement to foliage, sweaters, and boots. "Mahogany merlot will be a hot trend for this fall," predicts Laura Gibson, professional colorist and RUSK Artistic Director. "It's perfect for anyone looking to see more tonality and warmth on darker base colors." Tang adds that reddish hues are a great fall option for olive skin tones because the contrast enhances the rich color. If you’re looking for a color refresh as opposed to a full-on change, then you should consider treating your strands to a balayage appointment.

Although we love the dark blonde trend–it's certainly manageable in terms of upkeep–we also understand those who want to keep their color bright and sun-kissed to recall those warm summer days. When it starts to get cold outside, honey-blonde hues or gold-tinted highlights can help you feel a bit lighter. “Amber and rose hair colors are trending–anything that’s a variation on red,” says Emilie Riant Passelande, lead colorist at the Christophe Robin salon in Paris. With the change of the season, there are lots of other things that change, too, including the most requested hair colors. Simply put, fall is a time of year that embodies transition in every sense of the word. And if you thought the autumn leaves were just something pretty to look at, think again.

“Hair color now is about the finer details, the nuance, and the overall aesthetic,” he confirms. On the opposite end of the blonde spectrum you'll find champagne, a super-light blonde with a kiss of soft pearl. "Here, soft pink mixed with a pale gold glistens and shines," says Aloxxi colorist Jessica Wall Innella.

Then, tone with Color Touch 7/43, rinse locks, and neutralize, before leaving the Color Fresh Mask in Copper Glow on hair for up to 10 minutes. The layering of copper shades on brown locks gives the final look extra radiant richness. Deciding what direction to take your new look is an entirely individual decision. For others, it’s about starting off the season with a new color palette.

Because skin tends to be drier when it's colder, complexions can start to look dull as we leave summer behind. That's why we're tipping face-framing highlights as the lust-have trend for an autumn glow boost. Adding ribbons of brightness to the face-framing layers lends an instant injection of radiance – especially if you perfectly tailor the hue to your client's skin tone and eye color. Here, a chunky, cool blonde face frame has been added to contrast against dark hair and green eyes, with BlondorPlex + 3% being used to pre-lighten ribbons to perfection. Then, Shinefinity Color Glaze 09/13 + 0/00 has been applied as a toner; a toffee milk hue that gives the face frame a dose of light, bright shimmer.

If you wanna keep your current shade but just zhuzh things up a bit, try this amethyst-toned balayage look. The deep purple shade blends beautifully with an already-dark base, but it could be toned down to a more pastel shade if you have lighter hair. Just keep a color-depositing conditioner on hand to brighten up the color as it starts to fade (which, sadly, will be prob in three to four weeks). I knew fall was right around the corner when Emily Ratjkowski debuted this spicy, auburn hair on Instagram for fall 2023.

Rooted Blonde

“Chestnut is going to be big because it complements a range of skin tones and has the ability to offer both a vivid and natural look,” she says. Like, I tried red hair days before moving to New York City, never shied away from some extra-long hair extensions, and debuted fishtail braids to the entirety of my eighth-grade class. But after scouring Instagram, I'm realizing that the latest fall 2023 hair trends are kinda the opposite, and I'm considering changing my ways (hey, I'm a busy, corporate girl now, mmk?).

Sun-Kissed Brunette

However, when you buy something through our retail links, we may earn an affiliate commission. Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf, played by Leighton Meester, had an undeniable influence on the rise of headbands. The preppy style has been on trend in various forms since the popular teen drama show debuted in 2007, but according to Schipani, TikTok influencers have played a major role in its current resurgence. For a perfect iteration of the trend, look to Amal Clooney’s bombshell waves, courtesy of Giannetos.

Mushroom-brown hair is on the rise, thanks to the fact that it’s easy to achieve for blondes and brunettes alike with cool-toned highlights or a taupe hair gloss. Ask your stylist for the ribbon balayage technique to instantly add dimension to your naturally dark hair and emphasize your skin radiance. Warm brown balayage is perfect for brunettes looking to make a change and brighten their mane without actually going blonde. Chocolate brown and chestnut tones are among the trendiest fall hair colors to play around with.

Vibrant-red hair colors

Add a velvet-bow scrunchie to a low-ponytail (as seen on Sadie Sink above), stick a few clips around your hairline to pull back bangs or layers, or tie up a ponytail or braid with some ribbon. “Balletcore” is about to be the biggest fall beauty trend (just peek at the fall/winter runways at Sandy Liang and Zimmerman). If you want to try the trend on your own hair, opt for a sleek, polished bun, like the one above, and make sure to tuck in any loose ends with a bobby pin. “Following the momentum of the Barbie movie this summer, expect to see lots of bright Barbie blondes,” says Justine Marjan, a celeb har guru and Great Lengths brand ambassador. Beth Gillette is the beauty editor at Cosmopolitan, where she covers skincare, makeup, hair, nails, and more across digital and print. Follow her on Instagram for makeup selfies and a new hair 'do every few months.

This shade is guaranteed to warm your complexion and stand out against the changing fall colors that inspire us all. The dark roots mellow out the bright ends for a stormy autumnal shade that the stylist dubs "Desert Sandstorm." "Tomboy bob cuts that accentuate the jawline will be everywhere this fall," says hairstylist Howard Reyes. One of the best features of a soft balayage is its ability to provide a subtle and natural transition between colors, reducing the need for frequent touch-ups.

“Generally, people with warm undertones look best with warm blonde shades like honey and golden blonde,” Abby Haliti, French balayage and color expert and owner of NYC's Abby Haliti Color Studio, tells Glamour. Warm undertones usually have yellow, peachy, and/or golden tones in their skin. “Those with cool undertones, like pink or blue, tend to suit cooler blonde shades like platinum or ash blonde,” she says. Other things to consider, Haliti adds, are your eye color and natural hair color. While summer months often see lighter colors, autumn is the best time to experiment with deeper tones. "Dark chocolate will be the perfect shade for brunettes with medium-dark skin tones this fall," says Gibson.

Wrap one section of the ponytail around the base of the hair tie to conceal it and give it an extra classy vibe. The L’Agence fashion show showed us that the face-framing tendrils from the early ’00s are back and make for a really easy but ~chic~ hairstyle. Slick your hair back into a low ponytail or bun, leaving two face-framing pieces hanging in the front. A sleek ponytail looks equally great on day-one hair as it does on day-three hair, making it super versatile, as evidenced by this extremely slick look on Bella Hadid during fashion week.

Packed with cool tones on an ash blonde base, it relies on soft sweeps of Color Touch 9/75 + 9/96; two blonde tones subtly tinted with a hint of ballet blush. You could also use Color Fresh CREATE semi-permanent hair color in Nu-Dist Pink, Shinefinity 09/05 Silk Blush, or the temporary Color Fresh Mask in Rose Blaze. Ashy highlights and sweeps of balayage can be hard to resist, but never underestimate the impact of a single-tone, dark brunette mane that’s packed with shine. No lightener needed; this look is all about rich black hues from root to tip, and the key to nailing the look is using the perfect color product. Try demi-permanent Color Touch for intense vibrancy and shine, which lasts for up to 15 washes. For this look, the shade 3/0 was applied all over to warm blonde, curly hair, veiling every ringlet in the most lustrous, lit-from-within radiance.

After you straighten your hair with a hair straightener, comb it back into a ponytail with a fine-tooth comb (to smooth out any bumps), then smooth a small palmful of mousse over the top to slick down any flyaways. During Paris Haute Couture Week in July, Giannetos created an Old Hollywood-chic look for Camila Cabello using a thick black headband to pull her long, sleek hair away from her face and add glamorous volume. As the beachy wave trend becomes a distant memory, soft glam waves are on the horizon for fall 2023. Likely due in part to the recent uptick in Old Hollywood-inspired looks on the red carpet, Schipani also credits the Barbiecore trend for the popularity of soft glam. Dixie D’Amelio fully embraced the shorter look after debuting a buzzed cut last September. Since then, the singer has shown off a number of edgy pixie styles, from slicked bangs to tousled volume.

She says this color is perfect for a long-time blonde who wants to mix things up a bit. Toffee highlights add depth and movement to your long loose waves and amazingly flatter the dark roots. Now that you're an expert in all things hair color, keep scrolling for the 33 best blonde hair color ideas, according to stylists, and get ready to screenshot. The “hush cut” is a trend that originally started in Korea, and it’s all about bangs and layers. It’s ideal for those who have naturally straight or slightly wavy hair (or those who style their hair this way). With the hush cut, the weight of the hair is primarily on the top of the head, which allows for more movement throughout the mid-length and ends.

Dua Lipa's contrasting bright blonde and deep brown may not be for everyone, but you can't deny that it makes a statement. If you're committed to keeping your blonde intact year-round, try punching the warmth up a notch this season. Adding more golden tones will add a rich, buttery look to your strands, says Alfieri, who reminds us to consider color placement for a softer grow-out, no matter how high the contrast.

Light brown and caramel hues suit many skin tones but olive skin looks especially gorgeous with these warm tones! Blended highlights add a whole new dimension to the hairstyle, making your tresses more voluminous and fuller. Call out fall hair colors, and rich violet-red will be here to claim its rights. Intense vine shade is sure to step up your style instantly and help you turn heads all fall 2024. A blend of brown and blonde colors will always be among the most popular fall hair trends!

21_21 Design Sight is a museum in Roppongi in Minato, Tokyo, Japan, which opened in 2007. The museum, a design museum, was created by architect Tadao Ando and fashion designer Issey Miyake. The split-level concrete structure includes a hand-sanded steel roof (whose design was inspired by Issey Miyake's A-POC ("A Piece of Cloth") concept) and 14-meter (46 ft) long glass panels. The building is a low-rise structure consisting of one ground floor and one underground floor. Most of the volume of the building, which has a unique form featuring a roof made from giant steel plates that slope gently down to the ground, is buried underground.

How to Get Rid of 6 Common Houseplant Pests The Old Farmer's Almanac

house plant bugs

“They’re the little white nasty bugs that you get on the back of your plants–they look like cotton,” explains Leonard-Segovia. Plants placed outdoors during summer may have a reduced problem with spider mites. Houseplant insect sprays can be obtained at garden centers and farm supply stores. Only a few pesticides are labeled for use indoors on houseplants. Before using a pesticide indoors, be sure that the label specifies that use.

What should I wipe my plant leaves with?

A characteristic habit of drain flies is how they fold their wings over when at rest. The drain fly measures about 0.06” to 0.2” (1.5 – 5 mm) long. Earwigs are long skinny brown bugs that can sometimes be black. Their identifying features include a slender dark brown, flattened body, pair of recognizable pinchers, and two antennae.

How to Get Rid of Brown Scale

They can attack lots of different plants and are particularly fond of tender, new growth where they cause distortion and wilting. Their life cycle is short (usually two to three weeks long) so populations can increase rapidly. For more, see how to keep plants alive for longer and peruse our list of the best places to buy indoor plants online. Plus, plants look and smell lovely, adding instant ambiance to any room you put them in.

Preventing houseplant pest infestations

Here's how to save your plants from aphids, spider mites, mealybugs, and more. Keep an eye out for these eight common houseplant pests, with instructions on removing each one. These harmful small plant bugs are known to lay eggs on the underside of leaves. These eggs are oval-shaped and appear as white dots on leaf surfaces. Broad mites cause deformation on the leaves they feed on. They survive by sucking on the sap of young plants by attacking their tips or flowers.

Doing so will help you get rid of the indoor plant pests effectively and prevent further infestations. Tiny crawlers (the immature stage) move a little as they feed. Adults cover themselves in a waxy, protective coating and stay put, so you might not even recognize the small white or brown bumps as bugs.

Spotting Fungus Gnats

If you catch a couple of these and put on your infected plant they’ll eat particularly spider mite (which isn’t a spider by the way) and whitefly. Spider mites are so tiny that you may not even see them. They look like dark specks on leaves, but you'll probably first notice their white silky webs in leaf axils or along veins.

Adults will lay their eggs in the soil, with larvae hatching within a few days. In about two weeks, new adults emerge from the soil and fly around to other houseplants. The biggest issue with thrips is the eggs hatching into nymphs that continuously feed on the plant. Grown nymphs move into the soil for their next growth stage, infiltrating every part of the plant. Once they develop wings, they fly away to spread eggs to more houseplants.

Allow the surface of the soil in pots to dry between watering. Drenching soil with the biological insecticide Bacillus thuringiensis var. Aphids, another sap-sucking pest, also produce sticky honeydew.

Spotting Thrips

Whiteflies are a contender for most-pervasive, most-persistent insect pest in gardens throughout California. Bed bugs are small, oval-shaped insects that typically range in color from light tan to deep red. They can grow up to 7mm in length but are typically smaller than that. Bed bugs have flat bodies and are wingless, which makes them easy to distinguish from other bugs.

In severe infestations, they are often seen in large numbers on nearby windows. Scale insects are small, sap-loving bugs that attach to a plant's stems, branches, and leaves. Some have a hard shell, others a soft shell; both can threaten a plant's vigor or cause yellow or wilted leaves. They're often difficult to detect because their coloring is similar to that of a plant. When overwatered, the leaves on most houseplants will quickly go a solid bright yellow. So if you have something in between do spend five minutes just checking the leaves to make sure it's not Thrips (or something else).

Avoid the use of pesticides on houseplants, if possible, to reduce your exposure to these chemicals. Often, the best course is to discard a severely infested houseplant, since treatment is difficult and the insects will likely infest other plants, as well. Whiteflies are common indoor flying bugs if you have houseplants. The plant-destroying, white-colored flies have a fuzzy appearance. They are identified by having four wings, a pair of short antennae, and red eyes.

They both measure 0.2 millimeters in size and both require magnifying lenses to spot. They come in a variety of colors ranging from green to black to gray.

Earwigs are known to pinch humans when they feel threatened but will rarely do so on purpose. Their pincers may look scary but are not very strong and will rarely break the skin. If you are bit, rest assured that earwig bites are not toxic to humans.

However the most common symptom on the plant is mottled leaves with lots of little brown dots. Lack of predators—There are generally no predators in the home that kill pests indoors and feed on them. Because of their growing environment, it's easy for pests to hop from one plant to another. When you get a new plant, it's a good idea to isolate it from the rest of your collection for a few days to ensure it doesn't have pests.

When damage occurs, it often becomes visible within 5 to 10 days, sometimes sooner. With care guides and information about all popular indoor plants, we're here to help get your houseplants thriving. From the beginner to the more experienced, there's something for everyone. It's far more common to notice mottling, streaking, browning or yellowing on the leaves of your houseplant. It's easy to think the damage is some kind of watering problem.

This stuff’s harmful to pests, but it’s also super unpleasant for you. That strong pepper smell will throw you into a vortex of sneezing and watery eyes. Coat only one leaf, leave it for 24 hours, and see if the spray damages the plant anymore. That said, ivory dish-washing soap is the only other pure soap you can get your hands on. The rest will harm your plants because of the additives.

30 Modern Kitchens That Feel Fresh and Current

Assemble a frame-and-panel drawer front as you would a small version of a cabinet door. Then mount the glides [below] on the case and on the lower edge of the drawer box side according to the product instructions. The plastic mounting bracket lets you adjust these slides up and down and side-to-side for smooth-opening drawers. Begin by cutting 2"-wide stiles 1⁄8 " longer than the dimension from the toe kick cutout to the top of the case (31" in this case). If you need to allow for uneven walls, make the stiles 21⁄4 " wide, and later trim the overhangs on the sides to fit the opening. You'll also cut the middle rail beneath the drawers 2" wide.

What are the latest kitchen trends?

Interesting pairings – the more dynamic the better – can shake-up kitchen cabinetry design without breaking the bank. Here, the golden glow of burnished brass puts push-to-open island cabinet doors firmly in the spotlight. A nanotech coating arrests the oxidization process to prevent tarnishing and make the doors easy to clean. For modern kitchens, it has to be a plain slab door and go without handles for an even more contemporary look.

Cabinet Kitchen Design Tools

Look for cabinets with pull-out shelving and cubicles that maximize space. Inset doors and drawers with raised panels and beaded frames emphasize the architectural character of traditional style with a treatment that resembles library paneling. Here, the traditional cabinetry is given an updated, country feel with a coat of warm gray paint. Forgo upper cabinets in the altogether and, instead, opt for open shelves in the kitchen.

In addition to their height, there are a myriad of cabinets and drawers including an appliance garage and glass front accent. With such abundant storage, counter clutter should be a thing of the past. Antique-style cabinets and wood-top island give this kitchen country charm. The beadboard paneling—in a nod to classic farmhouse shiplap— used around the rest of the kitchen is painted the same white color as the cabinets to create a neutral backdrop.

We have the largest and best selection of kitchen cabinets to buy so that you can liven up your kitchen. Clamp the cabinet face frames together while you screw them to the wall and each other, ensuring the faces are flush. If you have put off learning to make cabinet doors, these easy-to-cut stub-tenon-and-groove joints will help you overcome your door horror.

A mix of open and closed kitchen cabinetry will punch shape and style into a wall of units. Here, smart wine racks bring an extra dynamic that works to further soften the kitchen’s contemporary design. While warm, neutral color schemes, natural-influenced materials, and seamlessly integrated floor plans are du jour, there are other signature identifiers of a modern kitchen.

Modern-day pantry ideas – in all their guises and formats – are finding a valued place in country, classic and contemporary kitchens. The rise of the home chef and baker, modern shopping habits and the trend towards low-level kitchens with few wall cupboards have created a very modern need for a generous central store. If you are happy with your existing kitchen layout and your carcasses are in good order, replacement doors not only make an easy and affordable option, they can also be a creative one, too. 'If you're worried that colorful cabinetry might date or dominate the scheme, opt for neutral tones and then introduce color with tiles, paint and accessories,' advises Rob Whitaker, creative director, Fired Earth.

Remember, trends should serve as inspiration rather than strict guidelines. It’s crucial to choose a design that resonates with your personal style and fits the specific needs of your kitchen. Your kitchen should be designed to work with you, not the other way around. Remember, modernizing doesn’t mean eliminating all traditional aspects. The goal is to create a harmonious blend that respects your home’s history while reflecting your contemporary tastes.

Natural Wood Kitchen Cabinetry

In a plain modern kitchen, you could replace just a handful, picking several colors to create your own palette. And of course, new doors can be the greener, less wasteful option – there’s no need to rip out a perfectly good kitchen, just because the doors are dated or you want a new colour or finish. 'With contemporary flush (flat-fronted) kitchens, think about whether you see yourself liking it in the future. Given its cost, cabinetry is usually the one thing you don't want to change in a hurry, whereas you can always repaint the walls or replace the backsplash if you wish,' says Tiffany Duggan. Technological advances in push-open and close doors means that it has become possible to dispense with handles in both wall and base cabinets. If you prefer not to have push-open cupboards, then recessed handles provide the same sleek look and can be lined with contrasting colors and materials to add interest.

The adjoining breakfast room features hand-painted floor tiles inspired by the bar at Le Sirenuse in Positano, Italy, seen here in the foreground. One trend in kitchen cabinet ideas and kitchen design is to mix wood finishes or colors, using contrast to draw special attention to different zones in the kitchen. Here, Tuscan style is represented in the rich wood cabinetry, neutral stone accents, and traditional reds and buttery warm tones. If you own a lot of kitchen gadgets and tools, an abundance of closed cabinets throughout the room is ideal.

The cabinet cases shown here were made from birch-veneer, medium-density fiberboard (MDF)-core plywood for economy. You can instead use hardwood-veneer plywood, solid MDF, plain or melamine-covered particleboard, and solid wood. Double-check the material thickness before calculating cabinet sizes and cutting dadoes and rabbets. With its 1950s overtones, ribbed glass lends new cabinetry a comforting vintage feel. Happily, it also partially obscures contents, so you don’t have to be too tidy when packing away the food shop.

We do this by listening to what you want, then translating your vision and expression into a virtual design that is uniquely yours. Below are some of the best free and paid tools to help you begin designing the kitchen of your dreams right from your own desktop computer. Storage space and its placement is a key aspect of a functional kitchen. The cooking zone would ideally have cabinets for pots, pans, baking sheets, and other cooking utensils within easy reach of your oven or stovetop. The clean lines and a fuss-free finish are still there but with texture, surface finish and soft color that bring character and are easy to live with.

In Wisconsin’s North Woods, a 100-year-old cabin enjoys an unexpected kick of cobalt blue that mimics some of the more vibrant blues found in classic camp blankets. Pre-assembled options are excellent for homeowners who have strict timelines and don’t have time to assemble their cabinets themselves. Pre-assembled cabinets are also ideal for people who have enough room in their bathroom renovation budgets for them, as they cost a bit more than ready-to-assemble options do.

Current trends for kitchen cabinets range from sleek flat-front European-style cabinetry with no or minimal hardware to classic Shaker cabinetry painted in white or navy blue. A mix of closed cabinetry and open shelving feels modern and on point. Kitchen cabinet hardware in brass is a popular choice that brings warmth to modern kitchens.

Look for really good, strong runners for smooth action doors that are effortless to use, and plan an interior that looks good when open. They are especially popular in open plan kitchens, where the workhorse side of things (appliances, taps etc) can look messy and, well, too kitchen-y, when relaxing. There’s something wonderfully reassuring about a library ladder in the kitchen. The only disadvantage is that contents can slide around upon opening. Happily help is at hand via a classic peg and dowel drawer base that will keep everything neatly in place, and can be easily adjusted to fit different sized dishes. When you engage our design team, we simplify the very complicated and tedious kitchen remodel process.

27 Best Blue Kitchen Cabinet Ideas for a Classic Look

cabinets design

In this section, I’ve searched out some of current trends in cabinet design and collaborated a few of my favorites. In the cleaning zone, the cabinet design could accommodate dishware, silverware, and cleaning supplies close to the dishwasher or sink. Here’s some layout basics before we jump into discussing cabinetry.

Modular Kitchen Cabinets

The Italian manufacturer is now offering a wide range of cabinets and prep stations featuring the same robust style and solidity of its celebrated range cookers. Each door is edged in brass to create a lavish outline that smartly frames solid panels of marble-look porcelain. The trend has stemmed from the need to access those handy yet awkward top cupboards for kitchen storage. Deep pan drawers are considered far more efficient storage-wise than standard shelved base units. This is the brand's Minerva island unit, which ends in a striking combo of industrial-look galvanized steel and dramatic Christus Granite.

Santana Pebble Grey Kitchen Cabinets

Glass-front cabinets—painted the same color as the lower cabinets—put dishes easily within reach overhead while displaying them with artistic appeal. The applied molding and antique brass hardware infuse an elegant look on the off-white cabinets in this French country-inspired kitchen. We're sharing our best kitchen cabinet ideas for every design style so you can choose the right options for your space. Below, we share our favorite kitchen cabinet ideas—from small, budget-friendly ideas to big, dramatic upgrades to help inspire your kitchen design.

White Cabinets with Gold Hardware

'We are seeing a definite trend towards bolder, braver color choices for statement kitchens with more personality,' says Jamee Kong, designer, DesignSpaceLondon. If you're looking for more kitchen ideas, these kitchen cabinet ideas will provide inspiration for open-plan, galley, U-shaped and L-shaped kitchens. You might also want to consider ways to decorate above kitchen cabinets, too. A treasured collection of Wedgwood plates crowns open kitchen shelving in Mia Reay's Jacobean castle that was designed by George Webster in the early 19th century. Most cabinet companies offer a wide range of special-use storage units, so you can mix and match pieces to get the type of storage you need. Here a vertical row of cubbies stores wine bottles alongside two cabinets of shelves.

Incorporating Zones in Kitchen Cabinet Design

Advances in LED technology is taking the illumination of kitchen cabinetry to next-level exciting. There’s no better way to show-off the craftsmanship of bespoke kitchen cabinetry than with beautifully veneered curves. In fact, most kitchen designers recommend using open shelving for daily-use items so that the dreaded dust never gets a chance to settle. And don’t forget the handles – they should never be an afterthought. Even recessed handles can bring a design dimension via color-contrasting shadow lines or interesting placement.

In this kitchen, designed by Cream & Black, the cabinet doors run along a rail so you can switch up which areas they cover. We love kitchen cabinet ideas with a mix of open and closed storage; it just breaks up a wall of cupboards and means you can keep some of you best kitchenware on show. Find out how to paint kitchen cabinets and then make sure you choose the best paint for kitchen cabinets. Walk-in pantries offer one-stop storage for all your dried and tinned foods, not to mention those outsized pans and culinary gadgets that won’t fit comfortably in regular kitchen cabinets. But it also brings a little definition to an otherwise relentless stretch of floor to ceiling kitchen cabinetry.

On the kitchen cabinetry design catwalk, black is the new black, and the new grey for that matter. Easy to combine with almost any other shade, black is your quickest route to drama and depth. Of course, the kitchen cabinet door design or even color/finish is not where the decisions end. Hamui believes painting cabinets a solid, matte color can have a big impact when renovating a kitchen.

Replace kitchen cabinetry doors

A frame of a muted aqua blue sets off all the colors, while the creamy white cabinetry along the wall lets the island be the room’s focal point. Painting a large island in a big open kitchen helps ground the space. In this Michigan lake house kitchen by designer Steve Somogyi of Chicago firm Steve + Filip Design, the crowd-pleasing cool blue island plays off the water hues located just outside the doors. Adding to the fun spirit, the designers paired the statement island with colorful, patterned encaustic tile for the backsplash. New York designer Christina Salway painted the cabinets in this Victorian farmhouse a dark blue grey to help the white farmhouse sink and light blue walls pop.

Stone and Wood

Consider the look you are opting for, whether traditional, featuring detailed joinery, or sleek and unfussy with a contemporary edge. This will ensure each shelf is made to allow sufficient depth and to carry weight without warping. 2021 has seen the introduction of curvaceous design elements taking center stage.

Finding the best kitchen cabinet ideas for your space is mighty important and so we've rounded up our favorite ideas that are both gorgeous, and functional, to help point you in the right direction. Karen Swanson of New England Design Works chose alternating hardware to accentuate certain shapes and play with details. The upper cabinets and drawers feature smaller, understated brass knobs while the larger ones feature handle pulls. If you look closely, you can see she flipped the same handles vertically for the cabinets in the corner to play up their height and complement the proportions. For a colorful but not overwhelming look, paint your cabinetry in two pastels.

Instead of opting for patterned tiles, utilize a mix of bold square tiles arranged randomly to form a dynamic composition. This approach yields a striking effect, blending warm and cool colors harmoniously. “This look is more utilitarian.” The white oak floorboards, however, have knotty character. 1 Cabinetry by Walter Lane Cabinet Makers is painted Benjamin Moore’s Stonecutter, an off-black, for a tone-on-tone pairing with black soapstone countertops.

Patterned tiles in various designs are artfully arranged to create a lively pattern, yet the beauty lies in how the soft pastel hues gracefully enhance the kitchen without overwhelming the space. Crafted from natural waste and living organisms, these tiles offer a unique, organic aesthetic. These tiles use sustainable processes, including 3D printing and organism cultivation to be transformed into lightweight yet sturdy tiles. Enhanced with bio-pigments from harvested algae, each tile boasts a visually striking, non-repeating pattern, resembling crawling organisms.

Even with the basic understanding of kitchen cabinet design, the choices are overwhelming when it comes to selecting the right style and cabinetry type for you kitchen. Online visualizers will help you take what you’ve learned in this article and put it to work. In the realm of kitchen cabinet design, the blend of modern and traditional elements has emerged as a popular trend. It’s basically an L-shaped or a U-shaped kitchen with an added island-like structure that is connected to the rest of the kitchen. The peninsula itself presents additional cabinet and storage possibilities. The design should focus on maintaining the open feel while maximizing storage.

Spice H2O is a complimentary adults-only sun deck on select ships that becomes an open-air dance club by night. The Vibe Beach Club will cost you extra, but includes spacious hot tubs, chilled towels and a full-service bar, plus the ability to rent a private cabana. Posh Beach Club is featured on Norwegian Epic for a fee, but free to Haven guests.

Regent Seven Seas

For discerning travelers in search of serene and sophisticated getaways, Saga Cruises offers an unrivaled cruising experience. Designed exclusively for the over 50s, Saga attracts couples and solo travelers looking for luxury that comes with the confidence of knowing every need has been anticipated. Such thoughtfulness is exemplified in my voyages where it’s not just the destinations that are catered to mature tastes, but also the inclusivity of the journey, making Saga the epitome of adult all inclusive cruises. Travelers looking to meet similarly aged travelers can connect with shipmates on Facebook groups dedicated to their sailing and arrange an unofficial meetup with other young adults on board. Active shore excursions, the fitness center and the hot tub on the adults-only sun deck are great places to look for peers during a cruise. An respite from the hustle and bustle of the ship’s public areas can be found at The Sanctuary, which is an area reserved exclusively for guests aged 18 and up.

Exploring the Allure of Adult All-Inclusive Cruises

The Aurora, which has a capacity of 1,874 guests and 850 staff members, is a ship with a slightly more intimate feel. At the very center of the ship is a spacious atrium gallery that spans all four decks. The Mediterranean, the Baltic region, Spain and Portugal, as well as the United States and Canada, are all included on the itineraries, in addition to a globe voyage. On board, there are a total of 11 bars and cafes, in addition to the seven restaurants available. You can select for a more flexible schedule at The Beach House or Medina, both of which are restaurants decorated in the club-style, or you can choose to dine at the same hour each evening at the restaurant Alexandria.

Icon of the Seas

In fact, travel insurance comparison site SquareMouth.com reported a 41% increase in the number of travelers taking cruises in 2022 compared with 2019. Cruising has come a long way, and now, rather than cookie-cutter ships and itineraries, the best cruise lines are offering options that appeal to a wide variety of travelers. There are mega ships that can hold almost 7,000 guests, and small ships geared toward a couple hundred guests or less. There are even expedition ships that allow you to get up close and personal with nature.

Mardi Gras: Best Carnival cruise ship for families

Whether if you’re cruising with kids, as a couple or on your own, a Royal Caribbean cruise will be extremely fun. No sailing is complete without at least one visit to the state-of-the-art Aurōra spa, which offers everything from Dysport injections and IV treatments to acupuncture and salt scrubs. Crystal currently sails six continents (all but Antarctica), and, although you can’t go wrong with any of the itineraries, the 123-night 2025 World Cruise — which visits 62 ports in 31 countries — is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. For foodies who cannot soak in enough ocean views, there is the Waterfront, a quarter-mile oceanfront deck filled with restaurants, bars, and seating areas. MSC Seaside was the first ship in the cruise line's Seaside Class and set sail in 2017. Each has a pair of Perfect Storm waterslides, FlowRider surf simulator, mini-golf course, ice skating rink, numerous venues for nightly entertainment, adults-only Solarium, arcade, and Sports Court.

The Wonder Playscape, an underwater-themed climbing playground for children, took the place of the second one. Foodies will salivate over the chance to book a James Beard-themed cruise, exploring the flavors of regions like Greece; France and Spain; Japan; and the Persian Gulf. Each sailing features demos and dinners with a chef from the James Beard Foundation as well as market visits, tastings and recipes, allowing parents to feel miles from making dinner for picky eaters.

The forward-facing venue offers unobstructed views from the plentiful lounge chairs around the windows. Likewise, when British billionaire Richard Branson launched the first ship of his Virgin Voyages cruise brand two years ago, it was with no one under age 18 allowed onboard. The cruise line later riffed on the subject with ads showing kids very displeased that they couldn’t get in on the fun with grownups. Some other activities on the Anthem of the Seas include indoor roller skating, bumper cars, water slides, rock climbing walls and a skydiving simulator. The North Star is a gigantic robotic arm that goes 300 feet above the ocean and offers stunning views. Although the Anthem of the Seas isn’t as big as the Wonder of the Seas, it is still a large cruise ship.

The 1-item upgrade you need for a better cruise ship cabin experience (it’s already in your house)

Unfortunately, Carnival has been slow to adopt solo cabins, meaning that no ships in its fleet offer accommodations for one. It's also one of the few vessels left in the fleet that still features jaw-dropping interiors designed by renowned architect Joe Farcus, who made Carnival synonymous with quirky patterns, bright colors and neon lights. The ship also does a nice job of accommodating families of all sizes and budgets. Many of Mardi Gras' standard cabins sleep at least four people, and the ship offers connecting cabins. Adventurous passengers can get matching ink with their besties at the onboard tattoo shop or attend a risque show at night.

Seek out the idyllic waters of Tahiti from Papeete or uncover the ancient Holy Lands, with sailings like a 16-night voyage from Istanbul to Haifa. Adult passengers can unwind with an after-dinner drink at a bar or lounge, watch a sports game on satellite TV, dance the night away in a trendy club, watch live entertainment or a cabaret show, or catch a game on satellite TV. However, it has the new colorful resort-style Caribbean pool deck, Lime & Coconut Bar, and an enormous Playmakers. Mardi Gras was the first of a new series of bigger Carnival ships designed to take the line's Fun Ship shtick to a new level, and it has since been joined by two more vessels in the, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Jubilee. Still, the standout feature for fun seekers on Norwegian Encore is its massive go-kart track.

Sure, Norwegian Cruise Line has won a ton of accolades for its family-friendly cruising. And chances are, you will probably spot quite a few kids throughout your sailing (especially depending on when and where you sail). However, cruisers in their 20s and 30s who aren’t ready to hang up their party hats will still find plenty of opportunities to escape screaming tots across Norwegian’s fleet of 19 ships.

On a Norwegian cruise, you’ll find young people as well as those who are young at heart. A key features on the Carnival Mardi Gras are Bolt Sea Coaster, the first roller coaster at sea, and the ropes course. These are two fun activities that you have to try when you go on the Carnival Mardi Gras. The Carnival Mardi Gras was launched in 2020 with some exciting new onboard attractions and dining options.

Because short sailings tend to attract a more lively crowd, passengers can expect lots of dancing, socializing and late nights at Henri's Dance Club. During the day, passengers enjoy spending time around the pool and grabbing free burgers from Guy's Burger Joint. With that in mind, one ship that offers slightly more exclusive options is Carnival Horizon — the second vessel in Carnival's three-ship Vista class. It offers a top-deck, adults-only Serenity sun deck area; an extensive menu of spa treatments, salon services and fitness classes at the onboard Cloud 9 Spa; and a handful of upmarket cabin offerings.
